WHO WE ARE

Hi, I’m Kelsey Scott-Zelek, a dog lover and passionate advocate for dog-friendly travel and balanced training. I  live in Austin, Texas with my husband and three dogs, Ruby, Guster, and Dutton. Ruby is a rescue dog that we adopted at 8 weeks old from Austin Pets Alive, and Guster and Dutton are both German Shorthair Pointers that we bought from a reputable GSP breeder. 

I started Urban Bird Dogs because I wanted to share my love of dogs and the outdoors with others. As someone who has traveled all over the US with my bird dogs to get them on wild birds, visit family, or just embark on a new adventure; I’ve learned a lot about finding the best dog-friendly hotels, restaurants, and activities.

As a woman new to the world of hunting, I’ve become extremely passionate about helping other women get started in the world of bird dogs. I believe that anyone can learn to train or hunt their bird dog, regardless of their experience or background.

I’m excited to continue sharing my journey with you all, and helping more people explore the great outdoors with their dogs. I want to create a community where women can learn from each other and support each other in their dog-related adventures.
